Networking is all the rage these days. Everyone seems to be Facebooking or Twittering; these are two of the most well-known. There are actually hundreds of sites that could be used for networking. These sites meet the need for dating, religious issues, school, etc. just to name a few.

In and of themselves they are a good idea, bringing people of similar need together to help and support each other. There are a few issues of safety with all of them.

It is very easy for a stranger to find out your personal information through other’s pages. Nothing is really private on any of these sites. Be aware that anything you paste on your page or a friend’s is basically public knowledge. Be careful of what sort of information you are putting out into cyberspace.

*Do not place an questionable pictures.

If you have children using these sites, as a parent you need to be vigilant. Be sure you know whom your child is networking with. Do not be afraid or ashamed to check out their page periodically to see whom they are talking to and what they are posting. It is part of being a parent to keep your child safe. You are not spying on them!

In Client server type of network there is one centralized system know as server which stores all the information such as files folders and application related information. All other systems in the network are know as clients. These client system try communicated with other systems in the network or share the information Via the server. This type of network is usually used for large business and big organizations which are centralized and this more secured one.

In Peer-to Peer type of network it is a group of computers which try to communicate to one another directly. For example if you have five systems on network and all these five systems communicate on there own with each another. For any type of network, Computers get there identification on network through The IP address which is unique address and communications happens through this IP address. The Internet protocol or IP plays the major role in defining the unique address to host and Client machine and also defines rules on how communication should happen between the computers this is know as protocols .

The basic hardware required for the computers in network is NIC cards, Routers switches, Hubs bridges. We have two types of technology used for networking wired and wireless network Wireless technology is more advanced when compared to wired technology For the data communication to happen between the computers we have seven layered structure know the OSI Layer.
