We live in a world of instant gratification. It is also a world that is far busier than ever before. Technology has flattened the globe once again, making it possible to do business on a global scale and to communicate with friends and family anywhere in the world. We have become used to this way of living and the growing popularity of technology like the smartphone and the Android Tablet have made it even easier for use to indulge ourselves in a veritable smorgasbord of communication, gaming, and networking. It can also lead to a new addiction – the smartphone addiction.

Take, for example, something as simple as PC games. Today’s games, like the popular MMORPG games, are based on the idea of a global playing field. Playing these games on a laptop or traditional PC confined the user to playing only where they had power and an internet connection. The Android Tablet and smartphones made it possible to play these games almost anywhere and at any time.

Naturally, this increased exposure has lead some users to become overly reliant on smartphones in general. There is such a thing as a smartphone addiction. The inability to go more than five minutes without checking to see if you have new mail may indicate a problem. Checking your smartphone in the bathroom, or worse, the bedroom, may also indicate a problem.

The good news is, once you have had your smartphone or Android Tablet for a while, the overwhelming urge to stay connected will go away. Once it has, you can begin to use your smartphone or tablet as it was meant to be used.

The virtual world awaits: with pixels to slay and graphics to conquer. You’re fascinated by the notion of a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (more affectionately called a MMORPG). You want to seek out battles, defeat gruesome enemies and rally for the cause of good — without having to leave the comforts of home. It seems like the ideal solution to your gaming needs.

It’s instead frustrating, however, as you start to play — with the rules elusive, the purpose unknown and all other users hating your every move. The by now wildly outdated Acheron’s Call was one of the first MMORPG’s to grab the attention of a wide international audience. It was succeeded in rapid fashion by the seemingly never-to-be-unpopular World of Warcraft. Each game’s newest iteration demanded the fastest computer available at the time for the most immersive gaming experience. That trend shows no sign of abating, as computer gamers continually push for faster, sleeker machines that can do more and more.

 

Chief among these capabilities has always been graphics cards, and there’s no change in that prerequisite today. With 3D imaging on track to become the norm across the viewing platform in time, gamers today already consider 3D standard. That’s because the future is here, and gamers spend as much time as possible in that future. They also consider integrated graphics to be a relic of a bygone era, since that method of image rendering is woefully inadequate for anything as memory and processor intensive as 3D. Dedicated RAM and processors are the underlying necessity behind multi-dimensional image rendering.

 

And where to from the position that we occupy when each computer is able to show us an altered depth of field view? Some would argue that holographics will be the next major breakthrough in graphics. And already there are impressive strides being made towards this future product. Touch sensitive keyboards created with light displays will eventually give way to screens that provide similar functionality. But in the meantime, even those MMORPG holdouts still playing Acheron’s Call can appreciate the improved depth of field viewing experience that 3D offers as compared to the original, flat version!

Video game addiction or video game overuse is a valid medical concern. Even though it has not been formally diagnosed by literature that defines a broad range of medical and psychological conditions. It is without a doubt. A very real thing that can hinder one’s life. If they allow it let it to be so.

If video game addiction disorder is a reality. Then the next question to be asked is this. Is there such a thing as addicting PC games? The answer to this question is one that’s best left open to impression. This is because those that are associated with computers/gaming and the excessive or compulsive use will probably respond “yes”.

PC games are very different one from the other. To begin with. However, amid the many PC games available for play, there is one special game that does stand out from amid the rest. It is this one special game that can have an addicting quality about it. For whatever the reason. These addicting pc games can become bewitching to certain people. They cast their own spell and it is up to a person to control the intensity of this spell. If they let the spell cast control them. Then their life is forfeit for consumption which will interfere with their daily routine.

Yes, PC games can be addictive to a certain extent, but it is up to you to remain in control. When you let the control in computers/gaming take you over instead of the reverse. You will then encounter a problem in the form of video game addiction. You should control the play and not let the play control you!
